Progression is a word that’s thrown around very loosely in the world of music, but when it’s used in relation to Mount Kimbie, we can assure you that it is not used in vain. The British electronic duo have today announced their long-awaited third album ‘Long What Survives’ (out Sept 8th) and shared a new single called “Blue Train Lines”.
Tapping frequent collaborator and good mate King Krule on the shoulder, together the trio deliver a jagged post-punk track that is as honest as it is progressive (there’s that word again). Piercing through the ambient soundscape, Krule’s hypnotic croon switches between poetic rhymes and aggressive outbursts, capturing a broad spectrum of emotion right from the first note.
