Though it’s not necessarily what they’re known for, the Brits are making a stern case for why they should be recognised as the leaders in the rise of neo-soul. In the past couple of years, artists like Ego Ella May and Sam Henshaw have emerged from the thriving UK scene, and now the time has come for Berkshire-native Rubee Rayne to step up to the plate.

Rayne’s latest single “Lost In Time” is our first glimpse of the singer-songwriter’s debut EP ‘Puparium’. Reminiscent of solo material from The Internet‘s Syd, Rayne croons of a broken relationship over a measured beat, sustained keyboard drabs and tender guitar plucks. Though short in delivery and minimal in terms of production, 2 minutes and 45 seconds is all Rayne needs to prove that she’ll be one to watch in 2017.
