With Australia Day and the festivities of NYE now wafting away in the past, it’s easy to forget that we’ve got a third of the summer to go. Luckily for us, Tassie producer Koh-dee‘s most recent cut “Callie” serves as a lighthearted reminder that we’ve still got a bit of time up our sleeves to enjoy all that the season has to offer.
Building on a firm bass line, a sparse vocal sample weaves in and out of airy synths and skipping percussive movements to create a sound that feels distant – like leaves floating away in the wind. Citing artists like Ta-ku and Cashmere Cat as influences, it’s no wonder Koh-dee’s latest cut is an absolute vibe.
