BIGSOUND is back, baby! This year will mark the first in-person BIGSOUND since 2019, giving Aussies the southern hemisphere’s biggest celebration of new music in its Brissie home at Fortitude Valley from September 6-9.
The annual revelry is set to be bigger and better than ever, with new additions to the festival and conference program, as punters gear up to connect through music and conversation, sparking the kinds of ideas you only get when you have that many talented minds in a single room.
Over the years, BIGSOUND has helped kick start the careers of some of our biggest sonic exports, including Courtney Barnett, DMA’s, Flume, Gang of Youths, The Jungle Giants, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Sampa the Great, Tkay Maidza, Tash Sultana, Vera Blue, and Violent Soho.
This year’s lineup is stacked with the best emerging talent from across the country, including Teenage Joans, Budjerah, flowerkid, Hope D, Mia Wray, ASHWARYA, Dulcie, and The Terrys — a total of 182 artists selected from over 1300 applications. Performances will take place across 21 venues over 3 nights — Hermione’s time-turner would come in handy here.
This year, our Aussie artists will also be joined by Kiwi legends JessB, Soaked Oats, Troy Kingi, TE KAAHU, Church & AP, MELODOWNZ, and Jenny Mitchell.
