What better way to nurse a post Mardi-gras hangover than to spend an afternoon with your chosen family, celebrating Queer talents spanning across food, drinks, comedy dance AND theatre! Heaps Gay and Absolut™ have teamed up for a not-so-traditional family ROAST this Sunday March 6th at The Refectory, University of Sydney.
Your ticket includes a four-course banquet feast curated by the incredible, award-winning pastry chef Anna Polyviou, so you can expect a show-stopping feast of colour and flavour. And you won’t be thirsty — Absolut™ will be pairing the dishes with post-Mardi Gras cocktails!
But what’s a banquet without a show? Perhaps the most exciting part of this event is the talent performing throughout the day. Sydney-based Mangarai First Nations Queen Tyra Bankstown will be taking the stage, along with House of Silky, a collective body of QTBIPOC artists based in Sydney, who’ll be showcasing their diverse blend of cultures as they pay respects to their ancestry and icons in the ballroom scene.
Of course, this party needs music! Legends Paul Mac and Johnny Seymour of Stereogamous will bring their toe-tapping tunes to the day so you can get down with everyone, before Timothy & The Heartstrings share their eclectic fusion of pop and classical music.
Tickets to the ROAST are available now via Humantix, with all ticket sales going to support ACON, Australia’s largest HIV and sexuality and gender diverse health organisation. Grab your fam tickets and indulge in a full day of luxury and live performances, celebrating some of the best Queer talent Sydney has to offer!
