The dog days are certainly over with this doozy of an announcement — her royal highness Florence Welch is headed back to our shows for the first time since 2019. If you were at those shows, or have seen Florence + The Machine live ever for that matter, then you’ll know these world-class performances are not to be missed.
Fans will be treated to songs from the band’s fifth studio album, ‘Dance Fever’, which is out on Friday 13 May — giving us a full 10 months to memorise all the lyrics in time for the March 2023 shows. Recorded predominantly in London during the peak fo the pandemic, the record speaks to all the things Welsh herself missed during lockdown, from hitting the clubs, to dancing at festivals, and the hope of reunions to follow — it’s the perfect soundtrack to her return.
With Brooklyn artist King Princess joining as the support act, Florence + The Machine will be playing shows at RAC Arena, Perth on Saturday 4 March; Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne on Wednesday 8 March; Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney on Monday 13 March; Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday 17 March; and Auckland‘s Spark Arena on Tuesday 21 March.
Frontier Members pre-sale starts 11am local time Wednesday 4 May, before tickets for the general public are released at 11am EST Friday 6 May here. In the meantime, check out Florence + The Machine’s new single “Free” below:
